Trends for Issuers and Merchants during COVID-19 — Virtual (recording of session held August 26, 2020)
The impact of COVID-19 is being felt throughout the global economy as consumers continue to adjust to a new way of life and reevaluate their spending behaviors. Both merchants and issuers have been responding swiftly to these shifts in consumer needs and mindsets.
This webcast is a recording of a virtual course session held on August 26, 2020. In this recording, Visa’s Innovation and Design team will cover relevant trends in merchant and issuer responses to COVID-19.
Public health realities and the sudden change in consumer mindset have challenged the business viability of merchants across the globe. Merchants have had to adapt quickly to the change in consumer spending. In the first half of this recording, we’ll investigate how merchants are reevaluating their business models and strategies to best serve and communicate with consumers.
Issuers, on the other hand, have attempted to respond to the current situation proactively with consumer messages that educate and equip their audience with the knowledge and tools needed to manage their finances. In the second half of this recording, we’ll cover key messaging, communication methods and changes to products and procedures from issuers in the United States.
